Earlier this month, 15 KLM Students performed at our 2023 Student Recital. The concert was held on a Saturday afternoon at the Glenhaven Community Centre & was well attended by family & friends of KLM students. The concert went for 1.5 hours and the program included plenty of flute duets, flute solos & piano solos.
For some students it was there first time performing in front of a live audience. For other more experienced students, it was a chance to perform a short program of pieces, in preparation for their upcoming AMEB exams. There was lots of excitement & nerves leading up to the concert. Besides from preparing their pieces, students also learnt about performance etiquette & managing performance anxiety.
There was a nervous buzz in the air, while students and their families entered the hall and found their seats. Myself & Veronica opened the concert with a Beethoven flute duet & then, it was over to the students! We heard a mix of music throughout, lots of classical & romantic music as is required for AMEB exams, some popular jazz standards plus music from film & musicals.
All their hard work resulted in an enjoyable concert! The students played beautifully & the entire afternoon had a supportive & kind atmosphere to it. All students received a certificate for their efforts & afterwards enjoyed a relaxed afternoon tea
