Term 3 was busy as usual, with students zooming in each week with minimal disruptions. After 10 weeks of remote learning, weekly music lessons on zoom seemed almost ‘normal’ …. but I hope to see some students F2F again soon! We will continue following health advise from the NSW Government and will resume F2F once it is safe to do so.
A number of KLM students took virtual ‘mock exams’ in week 9, in preparation for their upcoming AMEB exams. Mia will be taking her AMEB Grade 2 piano exam this session, along with flute students ; Sophia, Veronica, Ruby, Ayaka & Grace. Due to COVID19 restrictions the students will be taking Video Repertoire Exams. In this type of AMEB exam students perform at home and submit a video recording to the AMEB. The criteria is a little different to the “normal” F2F AMEB exams (for example there is no technical work but some students perform an extra piece), but with so many activities and events being cancelled due to ongoing COVID19 restrictions, it’s great that students have this firm musical goal in place. We wish them the best of luck in their upcoming AMEB exams!
What’s happening in term 4?
AMEB exam students record their Video Exam performances (at home) during weeks 2 & 4.
Halloween! In weeks 3 & 4 students will learn to play some “spooky tunes” & are encouraged to compose their own spooky tunes.
Students start to learn Christmas Carols in Week 6 & 7. This will give students enough time to perfect at least 1 carol before Santa arrives!
If you’re interested in taking music lessons please join the waiting list online here. I teach flute & piano from a professional home studio in Kings Langley, more information about lessons is online here.
Term 4 lessons resume on Wednesday 6th October. See you on zoom then!
